20/04/09 - Bath Academy to attend UK Schools Expo 2009 Exhibition in Hong Kong
The Principal and Vice-principal will be attending the UK Schools Expo 2009 Exhibition in Hong Kong from 30th May to 1st June 2009. It will be organized by Academic Asia UK Ltd who is the largest placement consultancy in the world. They specialise in the recruitment of pupils to schools and colleges in the UK.
22/09/08 - Exciting news of a past student
Lim Wei Sing is now in his 5th year of a Medicine degree at Cambridge and
has recently obtained a full Bill Gates scholarship for the remainder of his
6 year course. During his first three years he received a Cambridge-Malaysia
Bursary. For the last two summers Lim has worked as a volunteer providing medical
services in China as part of an Oxbridge scheme for medical students and he
is a very active member of the Christian Fellowship.
Congratulations to Lim
on his outstanding achievements both academic and social. He is a credit to
Bath Academy and we wish him all the best for the remainder of his course.

16/05/08 - Bath Academy Summer Ball 2008
Bath's historic Roman Baths and Pump Rooms are the setting
for this year's Bath Academy Summer Ball. Students and staff
are invited to attend this prestigious event in one of the
country's
finest settings. With guests in their finery, the evening starts
at 7pm on Saturday 17th May with a drinks reception around
the Roman Baths accompanied by a string quartet, followed by
dinner in the Grand Pump Room. The evening continues with contemporary
dancing until midnight.
01/05/08 - Business Studies students at Bath Academy help local business with marketing
30 students studying Organisational Behaviour in the popular University
Foundation Programme have brought their studies to life by liaising with
a local businessman who is using their skills to help him to promote his
business "The Juice Kitchen". Students are organising a tasting
session of in the centre of Bath of his fresh juice, smoothies and home
made soups in the hope of enticing customers to use the "Juice Kitchen" and
increase customers. Students have been working on promotional material,
communicating with the local press, undertaking surveys and conducting
secondary research. This material will be useful for the owner of the business
to increase his profits.

12/03/07 - Bath Academy Sponsors International Rugby Player
Bath Academy is very pleased to announce sponsorship of an international rugby player
Paulica Ion, the Romanian international tighthead prop joined Bath Rugby from Buceresti RFC at the beginning of this season. The 24-year-old has been capped 15 times for Romania (who are famous for their very strong pack) since his debut against Argentina during the 2003 Rugby World Cup. Known for his strength in the scrum, Paulica was recently described by the Daily Telegraph as "a prime lump of Bucharest beef" who "helped in the destruction of the Leicester Tigers front row".
Paulica and his wife Jenny have been studying English at Bath Academy since the end of the 2007 World Cup.

25/09/06 - Bath Academy Welcomes Euroclass 2006
Thirty 17-18 year old students from the Oslo Handelsgymnasium in Norway are spending one term of their three year High School education at Bath Academy, studying their subjects in English.
The eighteen girls and twelve boys are learning English (Language, Literature, History and Sociology), Mathematics, and either French, German or Spanish, and have chosen additional subjects such as Physics, Business, World History, Economics, Art, Media Studies, Psychology and Law. In most classes they are studying alongside Bath Academy’s University Foundation Programme students from other countries.
The students are living with local host families and are accompanied by a teacher from their school who gives them lessons in Norwegian History and Civics.
This is the twentieth year that a Euroclass from Oslo has been studying in the Bath area but the first time they have come to Bath Academy.
19/07/06 - Bath Academy Student Graduates with First Class Degree
Jun Yi Liu (Ying), who comes from Hang Zhou in China, was a student at Bath Academy from September 2002 to June 2003. He successfully completed the University Foundation Programme with an overall A grade and gained a place at Nottingham University to study Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
He has graduated this summer with a First Class degree and has been accepted onto a PhD course to study A.I (Electrical Engineering) at Nottingham University.

End of year will be celebrated in style at Bath Academy's annual Summer Ball. The event will be held on the 9th of June at Bath's splendid Guildhall where students and staff will enjoy dinner followed by dancing to a live band and disco.

17/06/05 - Bath Academy Student Awarded LSE Scholarship
We would like to congratulate Nguyen Thi Can Tu from Vietnam who has achieved excellent results with us this year. She has been offered a conditional place at the London School Of Economics to read Management, and based on her excellent results, the LSE have awarded her a scholarship towards her studies.

Representatives of Bath Academy will be travelling to Hong Kong and Malaysia this summer.
Nicola Philips will be in Hong Kong for the British Council's Education UK Enrolment Interviews at the Exhibition Centre, China Resources Building, Wanchai, Hong Kong on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st August 2005. 19/05/05 - Performing Arts Enrichment Course starting September 2005
In the attractive surroundings of Bath's newest theatre: The Mission - a converted Grade 2 listed building in the heart of Bath - students on this course will have the chance to develop and explore all aspects of the performing Arts.
Under the guidance of Ann Garner, Artistic Director of the Next Stage Theatre Company students will have the chance to to enjoy sessions of mime, improvisation, devised pieces, forum theatre and textual study. The versatile space will enable students to perform in-the-round, on a conventional stage or to try out thrust or promenade theatre.
Each term there will be the opportunity for a group theatre visit to see a play relevant to the course and each term students will present a showcase of their work.
No previous acting experience necessary, but the ability to read and speak English reasonably fluently would be useful.
