A Term in England

A great opportunity for students who are in the year prior to beginning their Leaving Certificate studies (year 11 in many European countries) and who wish to improve their English skills whilst continuing their academic education.

A good level of competence in English language is required as students join University Foundation Programme classes for most academic subjects.

Key Facts

  • A one-term course September - December for students aged 16-17.
  • The course consists of Mathematics, IT, English (language, literature, culture, history), preparation for IELTS, English for Academic Purposes and two other subjects from the UFP programme.
  • Academic reports for all subjects and a leaving certificate are issued at the end of the term.
  • Close contact is maintained with the home school so that there will be, as far as possible, continuity of study when the students return to their countries.
  • Accommodation is with host families, airport transfer can be arranged and each student has a personal tutor for help and advice.
